Coptic Cat

One of my favourite singers of all time, the extraordinary and exquisite and beautiful Montserrat Figueras, has passed to her long home. Her work, both as a solo artist, and with Hesperion XX, the group she was in with her husband, the equally extraordinary Jordi Savall, is absolutely perfect. I never met her, but my friend Sergi Romero from Barcelona kindly got her to sign for me a copy of her wonderful “best of”, LUX FEMINAE. The thought she will create no more music that we will hear saddens me immensely, but she is now singing in the Perfect Choir.
